wordcloud

We generated this wordcloud by collecting words and phrases about our class. I would say that it is fairly accurate! 🙂
We would love it if you could say hello, tell us a little bit about yourselves and perhaps ask us some questions.

You will see that we have a few posts for you to comment on.
If you would like to see some of our independent writing, take a look at the ‘100 word challenge’ posts. The most recent one has our responses in the comments.
We also have some examples of some computing work that we have been doing (our Ancient Greek animation and our Pandora adverts) as well as some maths challenges.

We hope you enjoy visiting our blog and thanks for stopping by!

P.S Why don’t you visit wordclouds and generate your own wordcloud?

Here is the Friday Film from this week. It is ‘The Alchemist’s Letter’ by Carlos Stevens.

I hope that you enjoyed the film. Here are a few questions for you to consider:

What is the relationship of the narrator to the alchemist?
Why is there a monster in one of the memories?
What do you think the overall theme / message of the story is?

One hour left and counting

Posted by: | March 11, 2016 | 7 Comments |

How would you feel knowing counting the minutes left of your life to live? 1 hours seems ages but fades so quickly. The story I am about to tell is one i witnessed by my own hurt eyes. It is all about a girl called Victoria diagnosed with a terrible illness age 10. The shock on her face seemed to glare at the floor her sorrowful eyes staring deep deep into yours it was scary, overwhelming but being even more scared for her 1 hour she had to live to the fullest.

Victoria lived with her dad and 3 brothers which was hard having no mum. Thats when I come in I was the one who treated Victoria as her own as her own beloved child. But at the end of the day this is Victoria’s story not mine and not a happy one…. Back to this. How would you feel knowing every painful second of your life to live?

Counting on one individual clock tick tock tick tock. i sat with her and held her boney pale hands once again I was her mum. Her nails bitten to the last bite her eyes squeezed tightly shut with terror and the sudden lump in her throat. It was nearly here. Tick tock tick tock….went the clock.

Ancient Greek Pots Animation

Posted by: | February 24, 2016 | 20 Comments |

Here it is! Our incredible Year 6 animation. It was, of course, inspired by the original work that Karen Aqua and Ken Field did with some children in the U.S (click here to watch the original).

Miss Taylor and I are so proud of you all. We intentionally mixed the classes up to add an extra challenge but you all worked really well together, producing some fantastic animations in such a short period of time (two mornings!).

Anyway, grab some popcorn and enjoy!

The shadows grabbed at her. Terrified, she ran, only the threat of what was behind her to go faster. Her legs raced on, she was a blur of hair and clothes. Fear shadowed her every move, ready to taunt her mind. How had she got here? The rush of branches, like knives, made it hard to think. It was as if part of her brain had been scooped out. For some strange reason, she thought it probably had. Her foot dug into the black earth, an unnatural glimmer came from the hole. It was metal. Strange. She quickly twisted round. She was shocked to see…

I remember her stumbling on the gravel in her 6 inch heels. I remember the gloomy deflated look that showed on her heavily made up face. I remember her trembling, chapped lips just making out the words “it’s the end of the line.”

It was a normal day at school when my teacher called me out of my lesson to talk to me. I knew it wasn’t good because she was frowning. I remember the exact words that came out of her red, mat lips. “your dad is ill” I just stood there and I could tell she was shocked to see I was not moving…

Rachel froze. Every part of her body ached. Warm, salty tears flooded down her face, a blur of emotion spun in her head.” You!” she stuttered.
“Please I did it for you,”. Rachel just stered. the woman gingerly smiled, flashing gleaming ,pristine teath.
“ This is to much. ”Rachel collapsed on the floor, never dropping her gaze
“N…No I can’t” the womans face paled with hurt. Rachel was overwhelmed.
She scrunched up her eyes and pinched herself. She was surprised to see it wasn’t a dream. Anger seered her body because this was a person she’d never forgive, who was never their for me: her mother.

Bottom of the garden

She was told not to go. She was warned to leave it alone but she didn’t care. When everyone in the neighbourhood was asleep, she crept out of bed, slipped on her fluffy rabbit slippers and slowly but surely tipped toed down the old wooden stairs. Suddenly she was faced with her biggest challenge: getting past the butler, who was polishing apples. The girl’s parents were really wealthy her dad was a bank manager and her mum was a dentist.
She crawled under the polished, glass window to the bottom of the garden there it was she was shocked to see…

The letter
She was shocked to see…
She opened the letter she was sent away far far away
When she arrived she spotted the crusty old house. Chipped wood broken glass she whispered under her breath “hello” then she shouted as loud as she could “HELLO”. Dust started to fall in fine spirals from the ceiling. That night she couldn’t sleep. Noises screaming. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door, every step she took there grew a louder knock at the door. She answered the door there was nobody there. Eva screamed and fell to the ground she was shocked to see it was her father.

She was shocked to see it! What monsters, how could they. She ran towards it but it was too late She knew she couldn’t save it now. It had already began to disintegrate, she watched the embers flutter down like the leaves it once dropped. She looked around desperately for the criminals, but nothing met her eyes, they were too flooded with tears to see anything. She wiped them. Now she could see clearly but she was too late! They had gone. The entire oak was now engulfed in flames, she knew it was gone. She looked around her, that was when she saw it!!

It was the day where she would find out her results … to get in to the school she wanted to go to. But it was a normal day at school she would do: maths, English and P.E. she met her friends. After school she lied on her comfy bed, was she dreaming or not?  She asked herself. The letter with a red stamp on it she opened it. Her dream could come true in three minutes   she was shocked to see… she smiled with a warming twinkle   in her eye! Her mum hugged her in happiness. She got in!

I mean I didn’t like talk to them but it just, I don’t know, we clicked. I came out the sea and met my mother. She was shocked to see me covered in seaweed. She is beautiful: the sun always sparkles and twinkles in her eyes. I love her rosy red lips and her long wavy hair. Anyway I am going to find the dolphin. I’ll name it Wave!

She wondered round the deserted village looking for any signs of life. As she thought back she remembered falling down the hole but where was she? She was starting to get hungry now and she had been walking for ages luckily she found a saloon and she went inside. Slowly she looked around but she saw nothing so she went to the bar and looked for a glass of water. When she found one it tasted like sewage water so she spat it out as she walked outside she looked round the back and she couldn’t believe it. She was shocked to see…

WHAT DID HAPPEN?

Terrified, scared Jennifer had noticed it, it was so terrifying and odd. This is what happened to her.
It all started in October 2015, it was her birthday, she was coming home from another horrible, boring day at the office when suddenly some people dressed fully in black beat her up and stole all of her money.
When she finally got home Jennifer noticed it was eleven o clock and went straight to bed. The next day she woke up, she was shocked to see that she was in a dog’s bed in someone else’s house, where was she? What was she? She noticed!

The envelope – by Sam

The envelope

Life has changed now, it’s very different from your life. Instead of dyeing from age you get an envelope saying how long you’re to live for. A girl standing next to me has just opened her envelope: she was shocked to see 20 years.

It depends on: what you look like, how intelligent you are and how fit and strong you are. I’m not very intelligent or good looking but a bit sporty. I hear the lowest is 15 minutes. Anyway I go to the scanner get my injection it didn’t hurt that much but it did a bit. I open the envelope it said …

Hello. My name is Amy (or rather it was). I am going to tell you the story of the death whisperer. But before I begin, there is one thing I need to tell you: there is something out there. Something that’s indescribable. Something they tried to hide from me. Here is how the story began:

I was walking to school, when I bumped into my best friend Kacey. We had been together for as long as I could remember.

“Amy!” She was shocked to see me. I stared at her, puzzled, bewildered. Then it happened: I saw black. I screamed. I was dead for sure…

The darkness
Amazed, shocked, worried it happened. She was shocked to see it: her worst nightmare. She couldn’t believe it. She was ready to come face to face with her worst nightmare: the dark forest.
It has been said that one step in the dark forest never come out. But she had to do it because of the key. The key that will bring back colours to the rainbow. The key that will bring the happiness to life. But millions of people went and never been seen for years.
She smiled at Eve boldly and went in. (Inside however she had cold blood running through her heart.)

THE REAPING

She looked out the window and she was surprised to see on the farm was a brand new tractor as she went over to it and heard a gunshot. The world went dark and she went rigid and didn’t even remember hitting the floor. When she woke up she was in a cold room with a Man with no features watching her the man spoke in a raspy voice. The man took out a knife and said ‘’I could kill you if I wanted to.’’ He stuck the knife in her shoulder. Suddenly she woke was it a dream or was it not…

Now that she had made it to the top she had to she had to get the flag and go back but she did not want to. Should I go back? Is it the right thing to do? Will I last out here? “Its very cold” she gulped. But then looked behind her at the spectacular view. The view was too nice to go home, but it was very cold. She slipped. She was second thinking her decision

Silence
It was an indescribable sight. It stared right at me. His golden eyes were like little balls of blazing golden fires trying to burn inside my soul. Kronos heard me trying to step away he roared “oh Perseus Jackson how dare you back away from the mighty Kronos!” Somebody else was in the background screaming with the pain and agony of the heat. Athena, god of wisdom, Annabeth’s Mother. She was shocked to see Annabeth standing with Nico and Grover. Hades stood next to Athena forcing her head down. ”Why don’t you come fight me? Too scared to?” Kronos Laughed. Silence haunted the battle ground. Dreams.

It was a seven hour flight from America and to make things worse my drive home is late. My brother wouldn’t tell me who was picking me up. He wanted it to be a surprise. Eventually my lift has arrived. I stood there still.
I think she was shocked to see me.

THE SHADOW

The wind started to appear again as Lauren took another few steps into the mansion. The floorboards creaked and the clock ticked. Lauren searched the dining, living room and then the kitchen looking for her lost younger brother. Waaaaa! A horrible crying of a baby came from upstairs. Waaaaa! There it was again. She crept up the long spiral stairs listening for any sign of her brother. Lauren heard running from not that far away. A shadow stared at her. Then it vanished as if it was never there. The shadow appeared again. Or was it a shadow? She was surprised to see her brother!

It was the worst day of Theseus’s life. He had to leave his mother and farther. There was a little girl only about three years old, she was shocked to see the prince leave Athens to go to Crete. Two and a half days later he arrived at this unknown island to Theseus, Crete. The worst thing of all lived under the palace: the Minotaur.

As Theseus entered the cell on the second floor around midnight. Theseus instantly got undressed and got into bed. All of a sudden Ariadne, the princess of Crete, arrived. He entered the dark labyrinth. The darkness tickled his skin!
